Sorry it was completely necessary to start with that one liner.  I have never ever read a pirate book, Daughter of the Pirate King was everything I dreamed it would be and then some. I adore so many different aspects of this book, I don’t know where to start!

The characters are incredible. Alosa, is the main character she is a pirate. She is so incredibly fierce and all around tactful. I adore her, with every ounce of my being. She also has her own crew and ship that’s consisting of practically all females who are just as fierce and spicy as her. I really appreciated how we read from Alosa’s point of view throughout the story and it felt so natural, I can definitely see myself being great mates with Alosa. Her sense of humor gave me life, there is so much humor throughout the book and Tricia is one talented and entertaining author. Alosa is the daughter of the Pirate King and she is sent on a mission to find a legendary map for her father.

Now, the next main character is Riden. Riden is the latest addition to my collection of book boyfriends. He is so scrumptious, sarcastic and has the best sense of dark humor anyone has ever written. His dialogue with Alosa would crack me up so much and the scenes between them were the highlights of my reading throughout the story. I loved the “realness” of him. I felt like I knew a Riden in my life, only minus the pirate attire and I felt that made him all the more enjoyable and authentic. I can’t really say what kind of pirate Riden is and how he comes into play with Alosa in fear of spoiling the first few chapters of the story. Nonetheless, I believe everyone who has a fancy for pirates, humor and fierce female leads to check out DOTPK!

Some of my favorite parts of DOTPK that really ignited the love I have for the story as a whole were the plot twists and all the little pieces of treasure that Tricia would sprinkle throughout the story. I felt like I was on a treasure hunt and I would keep on making predictions and it was so much fun! I adored this book so much I made some aesthetics for it! I’ll attatch them at the end of the post so you can see them!

To wrap this up, I give Daughter of The Pirate King a solid 5 stars/5 stars because it was splendidly written and I enjoyed it so much! I definitely recommend it to everyone and  I hope this review really encourages you to read it!
