A Court Of Mist And Fury by: Sarah J Maas

The synopsis of this book is:

Feyre survived Amarantha’s clutches to return to the Spring Court—but at a steep cost. Though she now has the powers of the High Fae, her heart remains human, and it can’t forget the terrible deeds she performed to save Tamlin’s people.

Nor has Feyre forgotten her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court. As Feyre navigates its dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms—and she might be key to stopping it. But only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future—and the future of a world cleaved in two.

With more than a million copies sold of her beloved Throne of Glass series, Sarah J. Maas’s masterful storytelling brings this second book in her seductive and action-packed series to new heights.

Let me start off with my favorite quote:

“To the stars who listen- and the dreams that are answered.”

Okay I am trying to process the ideas, thoughts and feels going through my brain and try and translate it into words onto this page. Basically A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas ripped my heat out and shredded it into pieces and then right when I was getting it stitched back, Sarah would reach into my heart and rip it out again.

Onto my review of this spellbinding book, this is the second installment of Sarah’s A Court Of Thorns And Roses. This is after Feyre defeats Amarantha’s curse and all the High Lords regain their power and Feyre starts her new life with Tamlin. Let’s not forget the bargain she made with the drool worthy High Lord of the Night Court, Rhysand. It talks about Feyre’s adjustments in her new Fae body and the new threat that Prythian faces. Also if you haven’t already guessed the bargain with Rhysand, we get to see the Night Court meet so many new characters that touch your heart and make you fall in love with Sarah’s brain all over again. There are of course so much unknown territory in Prythian that we haven’t had the privilege of seeing, but we explore the summer court and a lot of the night court.

There is obviously a lot of history that we don’t have much insight to but we learn about the war that took place 500 years ago as well as the backstory to the rivalry between Rhysand and Tamlin. One of my favorite aspects of this book is the character development. It’s safe to say that Sarah has us wrapped around her finger because I can’t help but compare any guy to Rhysand, I’m in love with him. I think the way Feyre faces her challenges and overcomes her obstacles throughout this book is very relatable because she doesn’t overcome it in an instant she struggles and it takes time ; in return you feel like that you are personally being put through those trials.

Tamlin is another big part of this series, Tamlin touched our hearts in ACOTAR but let’s just say the puppies and sunshine ended with ACOTAR. This might be a spoiler in some way but a lot of people hated Tamlin in ACOMAF we see a whole new side of him and it unnerved a lot of people but at the same time it pissed off a lot more. Tamlin is seen in a new light and I am wholly team Rhysand but I do see it from Tamlin’s point of view; nevertheless I don’t agree with how he acts. All in all I say author’s do everything for a reason so I think there will be a lot more suprises in the third book of A Court Of Thorns and Roses.

I think it’s safe to say that Rhysand (his holyness) was the star throughout this book from his good looks and charm to the secrets of the Night Court that are kept hidden. His true colors really shined through ACOMAF, he surprised everyone especially me. If you let me keep gushing about the perfection called Rhysand, I mean how is anyone able to resist when he says:

“You are my salvation, Feyre”.

“ I will bow before no one and nothing but my crown.”

Rhysand took me through many adventures through ACOMAF, in fact my baby (yes I call him baby, you would too) took us through so much that I have read ACOMMAF FIVE TIMES FIVE TIMES and I still can’t get enough of him, or get him off my mind. His character development and ability to: understand ,encourage and fight is simply impeccable. Not to mention how smooth he is, I mean his confidence and swagger had me melting. Don’t let the pretty boy image of him deceive you of thinking that there isn’t more to him than the eye meets. (I can’t use any other word because I’d just spoil it and can’t bear doing that to you guys). Rhys is just soulmate material, I compare ever guy to him hence why I’ll always be single.

Anyways onto Feyre, she really went to hell and immortality doesn’t get any easier on her. SHE HAS POWERS YOU GUYS, like when she was a mortal she kicked butt but now she is as dangerous as any of the High Lords and her journey to discovering her powers is so intriguing and had me on the edge of my bed. I felt like Feyre did mature into herself and finally accepted who she was as an immortal and I felt like that journey changed her for the better and helped in many aspects whether it’s her powers or love life. Feyre definitely took charge of things into her own hands and I am so happy and proud!

I feel like the quote that sums her up is:

“No one was my master-but I might be master of everything, If I wished. If I dared.”

I would recommend this book to anyone who reads. This is definitely my favorite book of 2016. ACOMAF destroyed me in the best way possible to the point I’m actually creating an ACOMAF support group on twitter and I made an ACOMAF inspired playlist as well. To top it all off I am going to go and rant and drool about ACOMAF and Rhysand on my youtube channel. I’ll include all the links below. I loved ACOMAF and I hope this review would encourage you to read it.

RHYSAND IS MY BABE JUST SAYING. Many beg to differ but I have claimed him since ACOTAR and yeah we’re happily married. Just saying.

As far as rating goes I’d give this book a million stars out of 10 but for the sake of reviewing I’d give this 5 HUGE STARS.  I was so passionate about ACOMAF I decided to make a twitter support group for it, and a spotify playlist, as well as a very long rant on my youtube channel. I’ll set the links down below incase you want to check them out. 🙂
